Are anonymous flowers creepy or classy?

As a local florist in Columbia, Tennessee Bloomstall Flower Boutique is often asked to deliver flowers anonymously.  We have chosen to not take any order without full sender information.  We will leave a card unsigned but will always tell the receiver the sender's name when asked.  We have run into several issues where the receiver did not want to have any kind of contact with the sender.  We've even had an instance where someone with a restraining order against them tried to send flowers to their estranged spouse.  When we contacted the recipient to let them know we would be delivering flowers we were informed that the sender was breaking the law by making contact.  We informed our local police department and cancelled the order.

We wouldn't go so far as to say sending flowers anonymously is creepy, but it does raise red flags on our end.  We also aren't sure why it would be considered classy.  The idea of having a secret admirer may work well in movies and other fiction but in the real world you want to know who has your address and is sending you gifts out of the blue.

If you need to send flowers un-anonymously to anyone in the Columbia or Spring Hill, Tennessee please consider Bloomstall Flower Boutique.  We've been voted the best local florist in town three years running.  See all of our arrangements at Bloomstall.com
